Sergio Tiempo | Karin Lechner

February 8 - 8:45 pm

SERGIO TIEMPO
KARIN LECHNER
piano duo

Grown up in musical environment, siblings Sergio Tiempo and Karin Lechner have begun to play together when they were children, first for fun, and then professionally upon reaching adolescence.
The tradition of pianistic duo in their family dates back to their grandparents and has been passed on from their mother (also their first teacher), Lyl Tiempo, who has had the chance to perform the “Triple Concerto” by Mozart as a child with her parents and as an adult with her children.
Both internationally renowned soloist, Karin and Sergio form a dynamic and fascinating piano duo. Their exciting and eclectic repertoire ranges from Mozart to Lutoslawski and from Bizet to the tango of the native Argentina.
The concert they are going to propose at Sacile is an impressive essay.
In June 2010, they performed the world premiere of the “Tango Concerto” for two pianos by Federico Jusid with the “RSI” of Lugano conducted by Jacek kaspszyz.
This same piece will be the object of their first recording project. The duo has recorded various CDs for RCA and EMI labels. They’ve also recorded a French-music CD for “AvantiClassic” entitled “La Belle Epoque”.

One can only admire the shimmer of the colours, the unequalled variety of timbres, and the refined use of the nuances and then be overwhelmed by the disarming sensitivity that is admirably performed by these excellent pianists who are in total control of their instruments.
