GIOVANNI GNOCCHI cello
CHIARA OPALIO piano

The duo formed by cellist Giovanni Gnocchi and pianist Chiara Opalio was born in the summer of 2009 during the concerts organized by the “Accademia Pianistica” of Imola. Both artists are active in the Italian musical panorama as soloists and chamber musicians. A rentless musical research is among the duo’s objectives: they aim at enhancing their expression and improving their communication with the audience; furthermore, they always look for new ways to present the masterpieces in their repertoire, without neglecting the search for little forgotten gems.
The two artists have already performed together in various Italian concert seasons and are scheduled to extend their activity abroad.
Recentley the Duo has received precious advice form such masters as Franco Scala, Ferenc Rados and Enrico Pace, as well as form the composer Thomas Adès and the pianist and conducor Andràs Schiff who has invited the Duo to work with him at the “International Music Seminars of Prussia Cove” in England.

Giovanni Gnocchi is very musical and open to new ideas ... wonderfully talented young artist, he will make a great contribution to music wherever he goes.
